the art of selling! ‘Selling’ has been the subject of thousands of books and
there have been many course written to try and teach salespeople the techniques
of persuasion. In most cases, the authors give the impression that selling is a
difficult process with many techniques to be mastered before you will succeed.
Don’t believe them! Selling is a simple, straightforward process that many
salespeople make unnecessarily complicated. Selling something to a customer
should be as natural as having a conversation with a good friend. It is simply
a process of communication -communication in your own style, so that you
maintain your credibility.
You don’t want to sound like a copy of someone else,
because your customers will know that you sound false. You will however need to
develop new habits so that you can ensure that your communication style follows
a certain process that will maintain your individuality and lead you towards
sales success.
This blog is
designed to guide you through the process of selling, by learning the theory
and expressing it in your own style. The selling process you will learn has
been designed from your customer’s point of view. It is based on research in
the UK where hundreds of customers were followed up within a week of being seen
by a representative.
The customers were asked if they had changed their buying
habits as a result of seeing a salesperson. Those that had were asked why. What
had the salesperson done to persuade the customer?
